Getting Started On The Game Mechanics
There are many ways to get started on making a game. For the sake of ludumdare, I generally tend to start with the core mechanic of the game. I feel that the theme suggests that this is the most important part of the game.
Plus it’s probably the most difficult part. You don’t want bugs and game-breaking issues in your final game. So working on it as soon as you can is great.
GameMaker Studio makes prototyping a breeze (after you get used to using it that is).
